sexuality: heterosexual. While it is in my belief that Roy is open-minded to that sort of thing, he has never shown much attraction for anyting but the opposite sex. Any close relationships with the same sex have been purely platonic.

appearance:
There is nothing too outstanding about Roy's appearance, yet he projects perhaps an understated magnetism--especially when paired with the confidence he presents.

He is neither too tall or short, standing in the range of about 5'8" to 5'10", and has a solid, broad-shouldered and mildly athletic build. His face is a little round but square-jawed, framed by short, stick-straight jet black hair that contrasts well against his slightly pale skin. His eyes, which are narrow and sharp, are just as dark with a navy undertone, giving him an almost Asian look, particularly with his hair and facial features.

Perhaps one of Roy's most prominent features would be his smirk...or smile. One which radiates confidence, almost to the point of self-satisfaction, and the other, sometimes optimistic, other times sad, once in a while resigned but sincere and meaningful always. At the same time though, he can switch from someone who's easy to be around to someone so stern or livid that he practically commands power.

The same goes for his poise. Casual for the most part, yet not without confidence (or the occasional lethargy), Roy has the innate ability to almost look regal is the situation calls for it. There isn't much variation in how he dresses, and he can normally be caught in a white dress shirt and slacks, work clothes, or anything that would represent spirit for his University.

personality:
Roy Mustang is someone who keeps people guessing. There are times often enough, where he'll say one thing, but do the exact opposite. Because of this, it's often a challenge for people to figure out what he's thinking unless they've known him for a while. Often, there is a double meaning to what he says--either because there are people around whom he doesn't want knowing his personal feelings, or it's just too hard to say upfront.

If there's one thing Roy has, it's his ability to earn the trust of others, and for good reason. While Roy seems to have ulterior motives in mind, everything he does is aimed for one thing: to try and better his country. Roy's a born leader, and a selfless one, to the point where he's practically self-sacrificing. His views are idealistic, often considered to be too romantic to even his friends, but his willingness to face up to the consequences and learn from his mistakes is what holds their faith in him. He is still a Scientist after all, and as one he has a thriving desire to seek out the truth in things, even if the rose colored lenses fade a little in the process.

The side that he normally presents, a flirty, procrastinating, and supposed 'date-stealing' side, is hardly the tip of the iceberg for Roy. He does have a bad habit to procrastinate, (how he manages all those classes and the like is still a mystery), and he does have a habit of attracting girls away from their boyfriends. However with his advanced knowledge and ability to normally remain cool under pressure, as well as his polite nature shows he is capable to back what he does up.

Simply put, Roy isn't perfect, far from it. However, his noble ideals, ability to think about others, and willingness to face up to his mistakes are what make him heroic.
